Day 7: Mistake 7- Not being Multi-Channeled

(Top 10 Mistakes when utilizing Mobile… other than not being Mobile.)
Day 7: Mistake 7- Not being Multi-Channeled

Like any other marketing campaign your Mobile campaigns should be multi-channeled to have maximum effectiveness. Meaning, more than just one avenue should be utilized during your campaign. We believe that Mobile Apps are the best possible form of marketing available other than grass roots, but we are obviously biased. However there are many Mobile opportunities and we are going to share a list of what we believe to be the most important ones:

·         Mobile App: You definitely NEED a Mobile App for your business. This is where you can have all your content, mobile store, products, services, push notifications and communications in one place.
·         Mobile Rewards System: A way to reward repeat customers. (Our Apps have a built in rewards program you can customize.)
·         SMS Short Code Marketing: This is where you can get your consumers and possible consumers to opt-in to your subscriber list (similar to an email list but using text messaging) by texting your “keyword” (example: your business name) to a “short code” (a short phone number typically 4-6 digits long). For example, you can text the keyword “red” to the short code “88500”.
·         Geo-Targeted Ads: Mobile Advertisements that pop up in other consumer apps based on their geographical location.
·         QR Codes: Absolutely a phenomenon right now… Just PLEASE do not make the mistake of having the QRC redirected to a Non-Mobile page.
·         Mobile Purchasing: It’s critical to have a Mobile Check-Out option for your products or services. (Our Apps have a built in Mobile Shopping Cart.)

If you take advantage of at least 2 of these services you will be better off than if you just use one. Of course Apps are the bestJ
